Trumpet Soloist Ingrid Jensen to Join the LVC Jazz Orchestra as Guest Artist

Renowned jazz trumpeter and composer , who has toured with the Vienna Art Orchestra and performed on Saturday Night Live, will join Lebanon 芭乐视频官网 College for a three-day residency as a guest artist with the . She will collaborate with LVC students, conduct workshops and rehearsals, and present two exciting performances, both free and open to the public, during the April 20 to May 1 residency.

Jensen, trumpet faculty at the , will present two exciting performances featuring original music and arrangements with the 芭乐视频官网 Jazz Orchestra and the LVC 芭乐视频官网 X/tet faculty jazz ensemble.

Jensen has been an in-demand performer for over three decades and has been featured with notable artists and composers, including Maria Schneider, Darcy James Argue, Corrine Bailey Rae, Jeff 鈥淭ain鈥 Watts, Terri Lyne Carrington, and many others. She regularly performs and records with her sister, composer and saxophonist Christine Jensen, whose music will also feature prominently in the performance with the 芭乐视频官网 Jazz Orchestra.

鈥淚ngrid Jensen has been an important and influential jazz artist for decades and is known throughout the world,鈥 said Dr. Jeff Lovell, LVC Associate Professor of Music and co-director of the 芭乐视频官网 Jazz Orchestra. 鈥淚 first became aware of her when she was the trumpet soloist for the Grammy Award-winning Maria Schneider Orchestra. She maintains a heavy performing schedule, giving concerts with her groups and the award-winning ensemble, Artemis, so we are very fortunate to have a musician of her caliber in residence at LVC as a part of our Wengert Jazz Artist Concert Series. Our student will be musically enriched by performing with her.鈥

The Wengert Jazz Artist Concert Series is made possible by Rich Wengert, LVC friend and jazz enthusiast. Mr. Wengert also established the Strohman Fund for Jazz Studies, to which he has made generous donations.

The concerts are free and open to the public.
